On Monday August 21, 2017, a solar eclipse will be visible (weather permitting) across all of North America. A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon blocks any part of the Sun. In Chicago, the eclipse will begin at approximately 11:54 am. At 1:19 pm, the Moon will block 87% of the Sun. Please see below viewing parties happening across the city.
